Slovak water slalom skier Soňa Stanovská won a silver medal in the K1 of women under 23 at the MEJ in Solkan, Slovenia.

In Saturday’s final she showed a clean ride and with a time of 103.48 s she was not enough just for the winning Polish Klaudia Zwolinská (99.58), who triumphed despite a two-second penalty. The Czechs Tereza Fišerová (103.98) won the bronze.

Stanovská significantly improved in the results list from ninth place in the semifinals, in which Michaela Haššová finished in eleventh and Kristína Ďurecová in fifteenth position.

Filip Stanko fought his way to the finals of the K1 juniors from the first position, but he also placed seventh (95.80) in it for two penalty seconds. Ondrej Macúš had up to 52 penalty seconds and was fourteen (147.77), Iľja Buran did not advance from the 22nd place in the semifinals. In the K1 final for men under 23, Adam Gonšenica took fourteenth place with a time of 96.31 with four penalty seconds.
