Slovak water slalom player Zuzana Paňková became the junior European champion in K1.
At the championship in Solkan, Slovenia, she triumphed in Saturday’s final with a time of 102.02 seconds ahead of another Slovak Ivana Chlebová, who underlined the success with a silver medal (104.94). The bronze belongs to the French Emme Vuitton (105.42).
Paňková and Chlebová dominated the whole competition, when in the first two places, only in the opposite order, they ended up in the qualification. They switched places in the semifinals and this order was maintained in the finals, in which all medalists completed flawless rides.
The Slovaks continued to harvest precious metals at the championship, Paňková, Chlebová and Stanovská were members of the winning patrols on Friday.
