In the interview, he denied that he had called on Western countries for military strikes against Russia on Thursday. His statements were said to have been mistranslated and he actually meant sanctions by the blows. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to Zelensky on Thursday by saying he was trying to start a world war. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in turn, noted that Zelensky’s statement confirms the correctness of Moscow’s February decision to launch a so-called special military operation in Ukraine.
