Well, this is not often seen. The Greek owner of the Škoda Favorit locked it in the garage immediately after the purchase. She hasn’t moved since. It stood in the garage for an incredible 29 years. It looks fantastic. It is an export version also with the Bertone logo. Cars have different destinies. But it rarely happens that they remain motionless for years in one place. This can be understood in the case of expensive models, which are basically an investment rather than a means of transport right from the start. But if something like this happens to an ordinary Škoda Favorit, it’s really curious. This is exactly the story behind Favorit from 1993. It is therefore the final phase of Favorit’s production, a year before Felicia took over the scepter. The Volkswagen concern has already participated in it. Right after the purchase, its owner discovered that driving is stressful. When we say immediately, we mean that he only took one ride with it – from the store to the underground garage. After that, he didn’t even touch the car. And so the odometer shows 34 km to this day! A few of them fell on a test drive at the factory and a little over 20 on the mentioned route from the dealer. Another couple graduated from Favorit only after 29 years, when they brought it to the light of day due to the intention of selling it. So that they can take a picture of it and check it in the service. The gallery that was created is literally a sensation. Now it’s around 440,000. Maybe it’s crazy, but if you love Skoda’s last socialist model, which was created in collaboration with the Italian studio Bertone, you won’t get any better. In addition, it is an export piece with graphic lines on the body, a Bertone plaque and a decorative Favorit inscription. The interior, in turn, is refined with an imitation of wooden paneling of the dashboard and colorful upholstery. However, the cabin does not offer much comfort. It has manual window controls and doesn’t know anything like power steering or air conditioning. But it is a perfect symbol of the time in which this car was created.
