Iglesias is left without the position of associate professor in the Faculty of Journalism to which he aspired

The former leader of Podemos, Pablo IglesiasEuropa PressIt will not be in the Faculty of Journalism where, as planned, Pablo Iglesias resumes his teaching activity. The former Second Vice President of the Government has not achieved the position of associate professor to which he aspired at the Complutense University of Madrid. The center’s Politics department has made public the resolution of the selection process to which Iglesias opted along with six other candidates, and the former leader of Podemos has been in fifth position. The selection commission in charge of evaluating the profiles of the applicants valued, among other criteria, professional experience, teaching experience and other merits. Adding up all the evaluable concepts, Iglesias has achieved a final score of 4 compared to 7.4 achieved by the candidate who has finally been awarded the place in the aforementioned department. However, and as stated in the University statutes, if If the former Vice President of the Government is not satisfied with the resolution of the competition, he has 10 working days to present a written claim that would be resolved within a maximum period of 3 months. He was already a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences. His options do not end here. The process for the position of the Faculty of Politics to which he already said this summer that he was going to apply also remains to be resolved. A center that is far from alien to him since he was a professor there before making the leap to active national politics. He also has a vast academic curriculum in which, in addition to a doctorate in Political Science, a degree in Law (both from the UCM) and other postgraduate studies, such as a master’s degree in Humanity from the Carlos III University, Iglesias was awarded an honorary doctorate cause’ by the Metropolitan University of Buenos Aires, and has other awards and distinctions, such as the ‘Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz’ Medal from the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia. In addition, he has participated in different research groups in the field of social sciences and has published several books.
