The Ukrainian army has penetrated up to 20 kilometers into the Russian defense zone beyond the Oskil river in the northeast of the Kharkiv region and is heading towards the city of Svatov in the Luhansk region. This was stated on Wednesday by the British Ministry of Defense in its regular report on the situation in Ukraine. TASR informs about it according to a Reuters report. “Ukraine continues to make progress in offensive operations, including on the northeastern and southern fronts,” the British Ministry of Defense said, adding that the Ukrainian offensive continues towards the Luhansk region. “It is highly likely that Ukraine can now attack the key road connecting the cities of Svatove and Kreminna (in the Luhansk region) with most of its artillery systems, which would further limit Russia’s ability to supply its troops in the (Ukrainian) east,” the ministry said. From a political point of view, according to the British Ministry of Defense, it is “highly likely that Russian leaders will be concerned that Ukrainian troops are approaching the borders of the Luhansk region”, which Moscow annexed during a ceremony in the Kremlin on Friday.
