today 04:06 | The Montreal Canadiens are still waiting for their first preseason win. This time they lost to the Ottawa Senators 4:5, this is their sixth loss. The captain of the team, Nick Suzuki, also started for the first time in the preparation after a minor injury. The coaches put him back to the twin from last season – Cole Caufield. And they decided to include Juraj Slafkovský’s draft unit with them. Before the draft, Juraj Slafkovský was mentioned as a suitable choice for Montreal precisely because he could fit into this formation. The whole first attack was looking for from the beginning of the duel, and in the first third, he almost didn’t even get into the attack, he couldn’t create even a serious chance. At the end of the third period, Juraj Slafkovský was hit when the opponent took advantage of his hesitation and put him on his ass. Ottawa entered the second period with a one-goal lead. The second accurate hit came after a mistake by Juraj Slafkovski when he did not guard the scoring Claude Giroux during the counterattack. Overall, however, his attack played better in the second act, he created chances and after a nice action from Suzuki, he reduced the score to 1:2. However, they went to the locker room with a score of 2:4. The Slovak striker had the most successful third twenty-minute period. He was seen the most, he was able to hold the puck more or come up with an action, but he did not manage to score and his Montreal team lost 4:5. Juraj Slafkovský spent the most time on the ice from both teams – 22:24 minutes. He had two hits, two shots and one negative point. Overall, however, he could not follow up on the good performance from the previous duel against the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he was one of the best players. He played it less than 24 hours before the start of the fight with Ottawa. Montreal has two more preseason games before the start of the season, both against Ottawa.
