V. Remišová in Na telo: The use of European funds to help with high energy prices is unlikely | TVNOVINY.sk – TVNOVINY.sk

10/2/2022, 1:02 p.m. Updated 3:14 p.m. Electricity and gas prices will be capped, Veronika Remišová announced in Na telo. According to her, the government will not allow people to pay extra for electricity. “We will solve the price increase with energy checks,” she said. The first October Na telo started with an unusual discussion: the guest of the session was supposed to be the chairman of Smer-SD Robert Fico, but due to the suspicion of an infectious disease, he canceled his participation at the last minute, as well as the connection via telemost. The party leadership therefore sent party vice-chairman Ľuboš Blaha to the session unannounced. Vice Prime Minister Veronika Remišová (For the People), who with Ľ. Blahom refuses to discuss for a long time, finally she agreed to the discussion. Solutions to the energy crisis The main topic of the discussion was the energy crisis – V. Remišová praised the attitude of the prime minister in Brussels. For example, Eduard Heger came up with a proposal that the European Union tax traders who have already bought Slovak electricity. At the same time, she emphasized that the Slovak Republic is one of the countries with the lowest energy prices. “I am convinced that we should have followed the path of Hungary,” declared Ľuboš Blaha. Hungary has long opposed sanctions against Russia, including the latest package of sanctions. The Smer party has stated several times that the Russian sanctions are a mistake. The Minister of Investments repeated that the nationalization of electricity is a last resort, Ľ. Blaha, on the contrary, supports this idea, but does not agree with the way it should be implemented. “It can also be done correctly,” he pointed out, but did not explain exactly how. In connection with the proposal to use European funds, she emphasized that they are intended for the development of underdeveloped regions. “It would require a change in legislation,” she said. According to the minister, it is unlikely that the European Union would agree to this. But V. Remišová repeatedly said that there will be enough gas. Igor Matovič’s dismissal and border controls A survey by the Focus agency for the Na telo show showed that the majority of people want the end of the current government and quick early elections. According to V. Remišová, the current mood of voters is understandable in connection with the crisis we are facing. “The current situation in the European Union is difficult, all countries face it,” she pointed out. 01:18 Survey: Should there be early elections? The majority favored one option ”We offered a referendum as a solution,” emphasized Ľ in response to the survey results. Blaha, however, according to him, the president ruined that. He currently sees pressure from the streets as the only solution. “There will be new demonstrations,” he announced. In the traditional YES/NO section, Deputy Prime Minister Veronika Remišová said that, in her opinion, Igor Matovič is a good finance minister, as Slovakia’s deficit is smaller than in 2019. Smer Vice-President Ľuboš Blaha responded that I. Matovič is a “national disaster” and needs to be removed to remove the minister’s position. Blaha also repeated that not a single member of Smer voted for the budget in the parliament. At the same time, both debaters agreed that it is not correct for Slovakia to introduce control on the Slovak-Hungarian border in response to border control by the Czech Republic and Austria. During the show, you could vote which of the guests convinced you more. This is how it turned out:
