On Thursday, Hurricane Ian began to weaken in places, but in the evening it turned into a storm again with destructive wind power. According to CCN, the number of victims has reached double digits. The state of Florida is refusing to comment on the deaths at this time. Fort Myers Island off Florida has turned into a devastated area. Many buildings lost their roofs or were completely destroyed by the hurricane. He also pulled out trees by their roots. Fort Myers City Councilman Dan Allers told the media that roughly 90 percent of the island is gone. “I don’t mean just the property and that. What the water washed away from the houses, but the whole houses disappeared. Even the brick ones with solid foundations were washed away by the hurricane,” he told CNN. The storm destroyed the bridge to nearby Sanibal Island. Currently, at least 19 are reported dead, with 12 on Thursday. Other cities in Florida affected are Orange County and Orlando. Hurricane Ian moved further inland towards Georgia, in the city of St. Marys, major flooding is reported, and further into South Carolina, where it will hit during the weekend.
