He refers to the fact that it is his government that, after many years of ignoring the problems, is bringing changes to ensure the improvement of healthcare, including better conditions for those who work in it. “People cannot be hostages in the game for your well-deserved comfort, but we can achieve it together,” declared Heger towards the doctors. He emphasized that the common goal and thus the demands of the doctors cannot be fulfilled overnight. According to the head of the LOZ, Petr Visolajský, almost 2,000 doctors resigned: Their number is still growing! The Medical Trade Union (LOZ) reported on Thursday that at least 1,948 doctors will resign, and the number continues to rise. Medical trade unionists have been announcing resignations for a long time as a sign of disagreement with the current conditions in the system.
Back in February, the association presented eight requirements that could help the healthcare system. Despite the proposal to increase the salaries of medical professionals, which is currently being discussed in the parliament, Visolajský called on the doctors to submit their resignations. The Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Slovak Republic declared on Thursday that it is ready to continue negotiating with doctors, and is also open to a new request from the Health Ministry to sign a memorandum on a plan to solve the current situation in the health sector.
