Many of us look forward to the Karlovy Vary Film Festival every year. We always have the opportunity to see beautiful robes, a great atmosphere and every year will bring some interesting moments, which are mentioned for several years.

This year, the Karlovy Vary IFF will be visited by several foreign film stars. In addition to Michael Caine, American actor Johny Depp and American director, actor and writer Ethan Hawke will also come to the Czech Republic.

The first day of the festival full of beautiful robes

The first day of the festival started in style and we could see many celebrities on the red carpet. Of course, the most important member could not be missing – Jiří Bartoška and his wife, and the beautiful Daniela Peštová and Paľo Haber also supported the festival with their participation.

Daniela did not disappoint again and charmed her in a golden robe. She confirmed that she has an unmistakable style and is a star in all circumstances.

A festival full of measures

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious film festival in Central and Eastern Europe. Approximately 200 films from all over the world are presented at the festival every year, and famous and important filmmakers regularly appear there.

Last year, the festival was not held due to the situation with COVID-19 and the 55th year was postponed to 2021. It is an event that will bring together several world, Czech, but also Slovak actors, directors, artists and famous faces.

Actors Johny Depp and Michael Caine will also honor the festival with their participation this year. Oscar-winning actor Michael will receive the Crystal Globe at the festival’s opening ceremony for his extraordinary artistic contribution to world cinema.

The festival will feature the comedy drama Best Sellers, the feature directorial debut of director Lina Roessler, in which he portrayed an annoying aging writer who is embarking on his last literary tour.

Another foreign guest of the 55th year will be the American actor, director and writer Ethan Hawke. He will receive the Festival President’s Award and will personally present Paul Schrader’s thriller The First Corrected.

In an interview with the Novinky.cz portal, the President of the IFF, Jiří Bartoška, ​​said that he was extremely pleased that the festival would open the film Zátopek by director David Ondříček. Bartoška also answered the question of how he coped with the fact that they had to cancel the festival last year due to a pandemic.

“We have been preparing it for a while. sense to prepare the festival, “said Bartoška.

Strict hygiene measures will apply during this year’s event. According to Bartoška, ​​visitors who have a covidpas will receive a control tape when entering. Sampling points will also be prepared on site. “We have repeatedly discussed with the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch and the epidemiologist Peter Smejkal about what to do,” Bartoška said.
