From two in the afternoon on Wednesday, an extraordinary meeting will begin in the parliament, at which the opposition MPs will try to recall the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽaNO). The proposal was signed by 32 deputies: all 21 members of the SaS club, non-aligned ex-coalition deputies Miroslav Kollár (Together) and Tomáš Valášek (PS) and nine of the eleven deputies of the Voice of former Prime Minister Petr Pellegrini. Since the election, Matovič has faced dismissal twice, once as prime minister and once as finance minister. He resisted both attempts, as they took place at a time when the government led by his OĽaNO movement was in the majority and the coalition included SaS, which today is trying to bring down Matovič. This time the vote will be much closer. Although the SaS does not yet have the necessary 76 votes in the parliament, which is needed to dismiss a member of the government, it does not lack much. Attention is drawn to the answers of some MPs, who said that they were undecided on Tuesday, the day before the meeting. Among them are also members of the We Are Family coalition.
