More waves of precipitation are headed for Slovakia. There is still a threat of storms – iMeteo.sk

The weather in our territory is getting worse again. Already at these moments, a precipitation field is beginning to move over our territory, which in the following hours will bring another wave of precipitation to our territory, which will be even more intense. At the same time, we will not get rid of precipitation in our territory anytime soon. In Slovakia, it is necessary to prepare for a further worsening of the weather, which will be the result of another pressure trough, during which a colder, north-westerly flow will open in our area and individual frontal waves will advance through our territory. The first wave is just now starting to move through our territory, so you can expect relatively significant precipitation. More waves are waiting for us until the end of the week. It will snow in the mountains and storms may occasionally occur. The first front is coming In the coming days, the weather in Europe will be influenced by two controlling pressure formations. A large area of ​​high pressure will spread over the Atlantic, while an area of ​​lower pressure will be located over the Baltic Sea and gradually over the Baltic region. A colder, northwesterly flow will open up within these two pressure formations. The first cold front is beginning to affect the current weather in our territory. Its movement will be relatively slow and relatively more significant precipitation is expected on this cold front. Precipitation activity is starting to move in from the west, which will bring a rainy Tuesday to our territory. Expect that 5 to 20 mm of rain will fall in our territory in the coming hours. Rarely, within the mountains, more than 20 mm could fall. The dry weather won’t end anytime soon. During Wednesday, the weather in our territory will temporarily improve. The precipitation will stop, but there will be quite a lot of cloud cover and another frontal wave will be preparing. On Thursday, another front will affect the weather, which will begin to wave over our territory and will probably affect us during the weekend as well. This cold front will bring further significant precipitation, while in the Tatras you should also prepare for snowfall. Storms are also not ruled out in lower areas. The front will separate temperature-contrasting air masses. If you are looking forward to Babie leto, we will disappoint you for now. The weather prospects do not indicate anything like that, and Babie leto might not come this year. Currently, it looks like more stable weather is expected in Western Europe at most, while our area will be under the influence of areas of lower air pressure that will be located over the Baltic.
