At the same time, it added that these ambitions of Moscow are likely to be weakened by the growing awareness of Russians about the failures of the military invasion in Ukraine, as well as dissatisfaction with the announcement of partial mobilization last week, which will concern hundreds of thousands of Russian men. The so-called “referendums” in Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions on joining Russia, which began last Friday (September 23), will end on Tuesday (September 27). Russian and pro-Russian authorities organized these plebiscites despite not fully controlling any of these Ukrainian regions.
