Marine biologists off the east coast of the United States have attached GPS monitoring systems to the bodies of several marine animals. In this way, they could better understand the secrets of the underwater world. They were most surprised by a huge white shark. Breton, as the researchers call him, was part of the OCEARCH scientific expedition in Nova Scotia. However, no one from the scientific world was prepared for what path this great white shark would take in the ocean. At first, his route did not look interesting at all. He kept to the east coast and proceeded in a southerly direction to Florida, the Mirror reports. However, after a while, an image began to appear on the screen that was recording data about his movement. After about 440 days, the scientists could not believe what they were seeing. Off the east coast of the United States, Breton “painted” his own self-portrait. When showing its route, which the GPS managed to capture, a clear image of the shark with both side and rear fins can be seen. Breton’s location was first marked on Scaterie Island in Nova Scotia. Recently, on September 21 at 3:29 a.m., he appeared off the coast of Baie de Plaisance in Quebec, when he managed to complete the “picture”. OCEARCH has been tracking marine life for 15 years and has observed more than 400 animals to date. It even broadcasts live from the depths of the sea. Thanks to this monitoring, scientists have been able to identify various diseases and problems facing the shark population in the Atlantic Ocean.
