From abroad, several studies have been published which show that vaccination really protects people from hospitalization, a serious course or even death. However, we still did not have clear information on whether the same rule applies to us. But that is a thing of the past. The Public Health Office released this information on Friday afternoon.

The vast majority of hospitalizations were unvaccinated

“In the Epidemiological Information System, there were 16,117 cases of COVID 19 in the period from the beginning of vaccination in Slovakia, which were hospitalized from 1 January 2021 to 31 July 2021, either in infectious diseases or in reprofiled wards. 508 hospitalized, ie 3.1%, had a positive vaccination history. 15,609 hospitalized patients were unvaccinated, ” explained the hygienists on the social network. As many as 97 percent of hospitalized patients were unvaccinated.

According to them, research or national statistics confirm that vaccination significantly protects people from becoming infected. However, in rare cases, vaccinated persons may also become infected with the coronavirus. However, they have a much milder course than the unvaccinated. They also have a higher chance of not ending up in the hospital, vaccination should also protect them from possible failure of the body due to the fight against coronavirus.
