In the training camp, he overdid it with such intensity that even the biggest stars of the “Riders” paused. In an attempt to retrieve the lost puck, he rolled over the Russian goalkeeper Igor Šestűorikun, the star of the Rangers. This goalkeeper is among the best in the NHL. The incident was reported by Vince Z. Mercogliano, a USA Today reporter who regularly covers the NY Rangers booth. It is said that the entire Rangers bench reacted to Sýkor’s “outburst”, which did not like such intensity. Sýkora fought his way to the Rangers main camp. That’s not all, Sýkora was immediately verbally attacked by several Rangers fans. He even answered one of them. He apologized for the collision and admitted that he said “sorry” to Šestorkin himself maybe five times. Sýkora surprisingly made it to the Rangers main camp. Until recently, he was sure that he would play for Nitra next season as well, where he was also last year.
