A fan starts a fire on the court and interrupts the Laver Cup match Source: SITA/AP/John Walton LONDON – Friday’s program at the tennis Laver Cup in London was marked by an unpleasant incident. At the beginning of the second set in the duel between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (6:2, 6:1), a protester ran onto the court and set the court on fire. Subsequently, his hand started burning. The activist, with a lighter in his hand and wearing a white T-shirt with a reference to private planes, walked onto the court and sat by the net. As soon as the fire started, the security guards put it out and took the intruder away. “It came out of nowhere. … I’ve never had such an incident on the court,” Tsitsipas said after the match. “I hope he’s okay,” added the Greek.
