Tennis: no US Open and end of season for Rafael Nadal, injured foot

“Rafa” will not return to the courts in 2021 and therefore will not be at the US Open. World No.4 Rafael Nadal announced on Friday August 20 that he was ending his season due to pain in his foot. He had played only one tournament since his elimination in the semi-final at Roland Garros against Novak Djokovic.

“Hello everyone: I wanted to tell you that unfortunately I have to put an end to my 2021 season. Honestly, I am going through a year where I have a lot more foot pain than I should”, writes the 34-year-old Spaniard on his account Twitter.
