Asaja Córdoba has awarded King Emeritus Juan Carlos I the highest honorary distinction of this agrarian organization, a Cordovan with the image of Asaja, for his support of the rural world. Similarly, the association has been pleased that it has accepted this recognition from an entity that represents “thousands of owners of agricultural, livestock, hunting and forestry operations.” As Asaja has indicated in a note, the reasons why the organization grants this award to King Emeritus Juan Carlos I “they are more than enough, since no person has supported the rural world in all its spheres” as much as Juan Carlos I. In this sense, the agrarian entity has referred to the fact of “reestablishing democracy in our country and promote Spain’s European vocation, which facilitated the entry of our great country into the current European Union”, an “essential aspect for the development and modernization of agricultural, livestock, forestry and hunting operations, and of agri-food industries”. And, secondly, “because of its public support for the national holiday and hunting, basic pillars for the generation of employment and economic activity in rural areas, as well as one of the best tools to fight against one of the serious problems of our towns, such as depopulation”, Asaja stressed. For all these reasons, “given the current complicated circumstances that make a face-to-face delivery difficult”, Asaja Córdoba wanted to public this recognition to the monarch emeritus “for his great work during his reign”.
