Prince Harry all smiles: sporting return for his last public appearance

In his last public appearance, Prince Harry scored two goals as he showed off his skills in a charity polo match in Colorado that raised £ 2.5million for the Sentebale association. After riding a horse, he was photographed with his friend, Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras, who is one of the association’s ambassadors. Happy to have found Prince Harry, the latter shared a snapshot where they all appear to be smiling. In legend, he unveiled: “QHow lucky I am to be able to accompany you in your mission to make the world a better place for people who are not as lucky as you. It is your commitment and your passion to give back that is my inspiration. It was so great spending a few days with you my friend.“

Ahead of the match, Prince Harry had said he would donate £ 1.1million from the sale of his memoir, which is due to be published next year, to his charity Sentebale. The Duke of Sussex had created Sentebale in memory of his mother, Lady Diana. He said today: “The Sentebale Polo Cup is essential in securing the funds necessary to advance this important mission, and I am delighted to be able to support Sentebale, both in person and financially with a separate charitable donation to meet this immediate need. This is one of the many gifts that I plan to make to charities and I am grateful to be able to give back in this way to children and communities who need it badly.“

Prince Harry to donate over £ 1million

Sentebale said for his part that the support of prince harry this year was particularly important after last year’s Polo Cup match was postponed due to the health crisis. The association said the game was their best fundraising opportunity. A representative explained: “Because last year’s Polo Cup has been postponed and this year’s one has been drastically and rightly reduced in size and scope, the organization needs additional support to continue its mission (.. .) Sentebale is grateful for his personal contribution, which will allow the organization to continue to operate on a large scale and continue to provide essential services to at-risk youth in southern Africa.“
