As the Benemérita recounts in a note, the investigation began after the victim went to the Boiro Civil Guard barracks denouncing having been scammed. As she explained to the agents, at the beginning of March she had found an advertisement on the Internet in which personal loans with low commissions were offered, so she decided to contact them. She then began to receive emails and have telephone conversations with a person who, supposedly, was going to manage a personal loan for an amount of 60,000 euros. Once the payment was approved, they asked him to make a series of payments for taxes, paperwork and legal fees, among others. Every time he made a payment, the scammer asked him again for another amount, excusing himself on banking errors and credit regulations. taxes. The victim made up to 50 payments amounting to a total of 18,975 euros. At that time, he decided to file the complaint, since he did not stop making payments with different excuses and did not receive the loan money in his account. After the pertinent investigations, the Civil Guard located the two people who allegedly carried out the cyber scam. This is a person in Vinaroz (Castellón), who was the one who contacted the victim and managed the money; and another in Burgos, which benefited from the payments. The Civil Guard has sent the proceedings to the Ribeira Guard Court.
