The President of Niger Mohamed Bazoum granted an interview to Marc Perelman and Christophe Boisbouvier in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. He is worried about the deterioration of the security situation in Mali and the jihadist threat hanging over the town of Ménaka. He also speaks on the case of Ivorian soldiers detained in Mali, recalling that the Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara had worked hard for the lifting of ECOWAS sanctions against the Malian authorities. “I consider that he was betrayed,” he asserts.
