A drama with a happy ending. Polášek has his first win next to a new partner – PRAVDA.sk

Slovak tennis player Filip Polášek and Australian John Peers scored their first joint doubles victory.

The sixth pair won the even first match at the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati over the Dutch-Australian duo Matwe Middelkoop, Luke Saville after an almost two-hour fight 6: 7 (4), 7: 6 (2), 10: 6.

In the round of 16, Polášek and Peers will face the Australian-British couple Alex De Minaur, Cameron Norrie.

During the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Polášek announced the end of cooperation with the Croatian Ivan Dodig, with whom he triumphed at the Australian Open in Melbourne in February.

He chose Peers as his new partner. He will complete a series of overseas hard tournaments with the Australian, culminating in the US Open in New York.
