Thirty participants from State services and the Department of Haute-Garonne took part. According to information collected by “La Dépêche” on the spot, the migrants were taken to accommodation centers, located in particular in Toulouse, Roques-sur-Garonne and Saint-Lys. 141 people presented themselves on their own initiative to the services of the State and the Department. The departure of the migrants, on their own initiative, was coordinated by the services of the State, without recourse to the police. A decisive meeting took place on Friday, September 16 under the aegis of the prefect of Haute-Garonne and in the presence of representatives of migrants, associations and communities (City of Toulouse and Department). “The hand extended by the prefect was seized. This morning, the operators of the State, of the Department were present, since 8 hours, to welcome the young people who are on the camp. Thirty-six agents including five from the Department were mobilized at a relocated reception desk”, said the sub-prefect Nathalie Guillot-Juin, on the spot. “The migrants were received for an interview, to provide documents, and to assess their administrative situation and guide them. Minors are taken care of by the Department, and if they are people who have been recognized as adults but who have seized the judge for an appeal, it is the State, on a completely exceptional and derogatory basis, which takes charge of them, until the children’s judge has ruled on their situation”. This Tuesday at the beginning of the afternoon, the prefecture of Haute-Garonne specifies that 141 people presented themselves to the services, this Tuesday, September 20. In total, 137 people presented proof of their appeal pending before the children’s judge, as part of their application for recognition of minority.
