The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro could benefit from a faster charging a little more worthy of the name

The 33W fast charge could be supported by the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. A big step up from the Pixel 5’s 18W, but is it enough?

Yes Google has already unveiled many elements on its next range of smartphones, we are still in the dark on many points concerning the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. In particular on the charging power available, while the year 2021 sees an explosion of fast charges pushed by brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo Where Realme.

Google is therefore eagerly awaited on this point, especially as the Pixel 5 only displays an 18 W load. According to information from the site 91Mobiles, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro would support 33W fast charging, which would be a big improvement.

No charger in the box?

To make such an assertion, the site is based on the words of a certain Yogesh Brar. The latter would take that from “Sources at Google” who would have spotted “A large number of 33W charging blocks” at the brand’s HQ.

Besides, these chargers would then be left again, which would indicate that it was only there for testing, and not to be added to the box. This would confirm recent information from The Verge, according to which the Google Pixel 6 would not come with a charger.

The Pixel Fold not for now

The fact remains that if the Pixel 6 does offer 33W, Google generally remains well behind the competition when it comes to fast charging, since even entry or mid-range smartphones from some competitors offer such a fast charge. Flagships on the other hand, can fly above 100 W, like Oppo with its 125W fast charge, Where Xiaomi which offers 100W wireless.
