Health pass: there will be no aid for restaurateurs who “do not play the game”, assures Bruno Le Ma – franceinfo

The sanction will be final for those who refuse to control the health pass. The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, wished, Thursday, August 19, to send a message “light” to restaurateurs who “do not want to play the health pass game” : “They will not be entitled to any state aid.”

During a visit to Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), the Minister returned to the implementation of the health pass in establishments open to the public, in particular restaurants. “It is the taxpayer who finances the solidarity fund, so I do not see how to explain to the taxpayer that he is going to finance people who cheat.” Bruno Le Maire recognizes, however, that there are sectors for which “the application of the vaccination passport can pose difficulties”, like the cultural world or cinemas, “where the figures remain lower than expected”.

The Minister of the Economy announced that a meeting of stakeholders would take place on August 30, to “look at the turnover recorded, sector by sector”. “If we realize that because of the sanitary pass, there have been losses in turnover, we will support these sectors”, he assured. But no free pass for fraudsters: “All abuses, we spot them and we punish them”, he warned.
