Fire in Gironde: fire still ongoing in Saumos, 1300 hectares burned – TF1 INFO

It was dreaded. In a context of severe drought, which the exceptional temperatures observed in the Southwest on Monday, September 12 have worsened, a forest fire broke out in Saumos (33), in the Médoc regional park. Still in progress, the fire has already ravaged 1,300 hectares on Tuesday morning, according to the prefecture. More than 700 firefighters, four Canadairs, two Dash aircraft, a Beech, and a water bomber helicopter were committed to the fire.
