Elisabetta, Camilla from queen consort to queen? “Not ruling out a change”

Will Camilla ever be referred to simply as “the queen” instead of the “queen consort”? The matter could be examined in the future, the king’s spokesman said, answering a question about it. Camilla is technically her Majesty the Queen as the king’s wife, but in Buckingham Palace briefings and statements she has so far called her Queen Consort. Asked if Camilla would always be known as the queen consort, the spokesperson said a change is not ruled out. He added, however, that the pair are focusing on the events of the next 10 days. “The king and queen consort are focused on getting through the next 10 days,” the spokesperson said. “I think those who saw the queen consort yesterday meeting people outside Buckingham Palace know how moved and involved she is right now. She’s focused on that, so it’s a question for the future.”
