The hydrogen sports car “made in Slovakia” was shown to the public. However, you won’t be able to travel with him – True

In the premiere, a unique prototype of the MH2 hydrogen sports car was presented for the first time in Slovakia, which is the result of cooperation between the Technical University in Košice and the Matador Group company. Slovak hydrogen sports car designer Branislav Maukš explains to the Pravda daily that the vehicle is exceptional precisely because of its technology. It is powered by hydrogen, which is unique in itself. For now, however, it is only a concept, so the car cannot be driven on roads yet. “We tried to use this form to show new approaches and the future as we imagine it,” says the designer. From concept to final product can still be several years. VIDEO: Slovak premiere of a hydrogen-powered athlete The inspiration for the athlete model in its design was the body of an athlete and a drop. “The drop is the best aerodynamic shape. Aerodynamics and a sports car must always work together,” he adds. Tomáš Brestovič, vice-dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Technical University in Košice, describes the school’s contribution to this model. “We have developed technology that we can include in mobile devices, which can be seen in this car,” he claims for Pravda. According to him, it is indeed a vision of how the car could look in the future, but on the other hand, in the back of the car there is also functional hydrogen technology for the fuel cells of the reservoirs and all distribution systems. Slovakia can produce a relatively large amount of hydrogen. However, according to the general director of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency, Petar Blaškovitš, it is important that we be able to produce green hydrogen. That is, one that will be primarily produced from renewable sources. “We focus on the challenges and support of green hydrogen. We have evaluated one challenge and we have two successful projects for the production of green hydrogen from photovoltaics,” he describes the situation.
