A rainy Saturday awaits Slovakia. Precipitation will come already at night. They will also bring storms – iMeteo.sk

In the past few hours, it has cooled down in our territory, which was caused by the passage of a cold front. It moved through our territory during the course of yesterday and today we are in colder air. However, more precipitation awaits us soon. It will bring their pressure area lower. Yesterday’s passage of the cold front brought more significant precipitation totals and numerous lightning to Slovakia. Around 35 mm of rain fell in the area of ​​Rajecká dolina. However, it rained in several places. In addition, the storms also brought thousands of lightning bolts. In the coming hours, we are expecting further worsening of the weather. This time, the weather will be affected by a pressure trough, which will move through our area and bring precipitation and storms to Slovakia. Precipitation will come in the evening At this moment, the low pressure area is still in the Balkan region, but its movement will accelerate in the coming hours. During the evening, it will reach over Hungary, and during the weekend, this depression will advance through western Ukraine towards eastern Poland. An extensive precipitation field will wrap around this pressure trough. Rainfall awaits us throughout the weekend. It will be individual waves, while the most significant precipitation wave will come in the coming hours. Weather deterioration should be expected during this evening and night. Precipitation will begin to move over our territory from the west from Austria, where it is already occurring. It will start raining in western Slovakia in the later evening hours today and will gradually spread over other parts of Slovakia. Saturday will bring downpours and storms During the night, precipitation is gradually expected in many parts of our territory, and on Saturday morning it will rain, especially in eastern Slovakia, where the heaviest precipitation is expected. Predominantly 15 mm of rain will fall on our territory in the coming hours, but around 30 mm could also fall in the area of ​​eastern Slovakia. This will definitely not cause any complications. On the contrary, the expected rainfall will bring much-needed moisture. During Saturday morning, however, you have to prepare for the fact that the precipitation intensity will start to increase and storms may gradually occur. These will be embedded in a prominent precipitation field.
