CURRENT Slovakia has signed a contract for LNG supplies: It will flow through Italy – Topky.sk

The contract will secure 10 percent of the volume of Slovak reservoirs. According to Heger, LNG will arrive in the last quarter of 2022 and in the first quarter of 2023. SPP General Director Richard Prokypčák pointed out that some time ago they contracted the transport capacity from Italy to Slovakia and with this signature secured gas for the transport capacity. According to him, SR has a resolved gas volume for the coming winter. The transport capacity has been owned by SPP since October 1, and from then on physical deliveries of LNG to Slovakia will also begin. SPP wants to use the volume of contracted LNG to prepare for a possible stoppage of supplies from Russia’s Gazprom. “Slovakia has not been idle in recent months and ensured sufficient gas,” emphasized Heger. He added that LNG is sold at lower prices and thus can be delivered to citizens more cheaply. The prime minister recalled that Slovakia has a well-developed infrastructure, as it is connected to every neighboring state by gas pipelines. It also has secured Norwegian gas via Poland and supplies to the Croatian LNG terminal.
