Windows 11: Microsoft unveils a whole new look for Paint – Frandroid

Windows 11 will mark a graphical overhaul for Windows. The applications supplied with the system such as Paint will also be entitled to their brushstroke.

When it does not complicate the use of alternative browser in an absurd way, Microsoft is working on redesign of its applications on Windows 11. A first wave of new versions of applications is offered on the Windows Insider program to be tested.

Panos Panay, who oversees Windows 11 development for Microsoft, has started to showcase upcoming apps that will be eligible for a redesign, starting with Paint.

A redesign for an app that needed it

Paint is one of the historic Windows applications. It is one of the first software that I used as a child to have fun drawing on the computer, and for good reason it allows you to start learning the mouse. Paint has been updated a few times since, but Microsoft has tried to replace it with Paint 3D with Windows 10. It seems that this has not been successful. Paint has remained the default application for many people and now Microsoft will be releasing an update directly for this application.

The video is quite short, but we can see some big changes for Paint. In addition to an aesthetic redesign to modernize the experience, we can note that the canvas used for drawing or retouching is now at the center of the application rather than at the top left. The app also seems to offer better choices of brush colors and sizes.

Here is a comparison between the current version of Paint and the new version presented to better see the differences. Modernization may seem fairly straightforward here, as Paint has come a long way.

Good news, the application will also handle the dark Windows theme. This was not currently the case.

This new version of Paint should be available upon release of Windows 11 whose launch is scheduled for the end of the year.
