Source: Nissan Nissan presented a new generation of its X-Trail SUV. It’s not such a surprise, because the design is actually two years old. It is demonstrated by the American model Rogue, which has been operating since 2020. However, this is not a problem, because the design is still up-to-date and for Europe the model will receive exclusively hybrid power units with a very interesting full hybrid. The shapes of the new model are certainly inspired by the smaller model with two Qs in the name, while adding a touch of its own identity. In translation, this means Full LED headlights, which are divided into two levels and are not connected by a belt as in the case of the mentioned Qashqai model. At first glance, the X-Trail also belongs to the family with the appearance of the radiator grille, while the rear part shows an evolutionary approach to design compared to its predecessor. The automaker announced that it will produce the Nissan X-Trail in 10 color shades. We assume that the majority will oscillate around the gray color. The interior comes with a large luggage compartment. It has a volume of up to 585 liters in the 5-seat version, which is 20 liters more than its predecessor. However, if you want 7 places, you will make this cave a little smaller. In the third row, Nissan talks about use for passengers with a maximum height of 160 centimeters. Anyone taller will have to humble themselves, or they won’t be completely comfortable traveling. However, these saddles are excellent as an emergency. The middle row has a 60:40 split, so you can optimally climb into the third row through the narrow part. Both have a diagonal of 12.3 inches, and one serves to inform the driver instead of the classic round indicators, and the other is in the middle and displays information from the infotainment system. They are shown much more friendly than ever before. The X-Trail also got a new software system. It is taken from a smaller model and its display is of much better quality, and the same applies to the used display, which is much more pleasant to use and has vastly better reactions than its predecessor. But the main thing comes under the hood of the model. The automaker has chosen a similar approach to the smaller Qashqai model, which means that in the front part, in the case of a hybrid model, a 1.5-liter gasoline unit is fighting, which serves as a generator for the model’s electric drive system. In reality, the X-Trail thus achieves a power of 150 kW (204 hp) and a torque of 330 Nm, despite the relatively small internal combustion engine. This system is connected to the front axle drive and reaches 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The second alternative is the use of four-wheel drive, which adds an electric motor to the rear wheels and brings the total output to 154 kW (210 hp). Interestingly, the acceleration has moved up by 1 second to 7 seconds for a five seater and to 7.2 seconds if you have a 7 seater. As an alternative to the full hybrid model, there will be a mild-hybrid. It will again consist of a 1.5-liter engine, but this time supercharged, which will offer a power of 120 kW (163 hp) and a torque of 300 Nm. This engine will be connected exclusively to the drive of the front axle and a gearbox with automatic control, but without steps, that is, with a CVT. Nissan has confirmed that the X-Trail will be on our market sometime this year, but for now we only know the price in other European countries. This can be the case, for example, in Italy, where the base price is set at €38,000.
