Craig Ramsay’s men will feature in a basic Group B in Riga, Latvia, which also features Canada, Switzerland, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Norway. The venue for Group A is Tampere, Finland, where two of the four quarter-finals, both semi-finals and the medal matches will take place (May 28). The Slovak hockey players will play the second duel of the championship on Saturday, May 13 at 7:20 p.m. against the Latvians, on Monday, May 15 at 3:20 p.m. SELČ will compete against Canada. After the initial three meetings, they will have two days off. On Thursday, May 18 at 7:20 p.m., they will then meet Switzerland, a day later at the same time they will be tested by the representatives of Kazakhstan. In the penultimate match in the basic group, the Slovak representatives will play against Slovenia (Sunday, May 21 at 3:20 p.m.) and they will conclude the group matches with a duel with Norway (Tuesday, May 23 at 11:20 a.m.). The medalists will be announced on Sunday, May 28. In addition to the domestic champions, representatives of Sweden, the USA, Germany, Denmark, Austria, France and Hungary will be represented in the A-group in Tampere. The four best teams from both basic groups will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarter-final matches will take place on Thursday, May 25, and the semi-finals will follow two days later. The medalists will be announced on Sunday, May 28. The opening rounds of the match for third place are scheduled at 2:20 p.m. CET, the final duel will start at 7:20 p.m. Hockeyslovakia.sk portal informed.
