However, a new study warns against a signal that indicates contagion. According to Professor Luke O’Neil of Trinity College Dublin, the new strain causes night sweats. “One extra symptom of the BA.5 strain is night sweats. The disease is a little different because the virus has changed,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying. “People have already built up some immunity against the coronavirus, so the reaction of the immune system with the virus is different than at the beginning. It can lead to a slightly different disease, the symptom of which is, oddly enough, night sweats,” he added.
