Google is fed up with Fire TV: it will launch a cheap Chromecast at the end of the year – Andro4all

09/07/2022 16:00Google’s Chromecast has long been one of the preferred solutions for streaming content from an Android phone to a television. If you don’t know how it works, we’ve been telling you everything you need to know for some time now. Many users have declared their liking for the Google device on countless occasions; we have too. Well, now the Big G is planning to launch a cheap Chromecast with which to stand up to the Amazon Fire Stick, until now its best alternative. A new Chromecast with Google TV, but without 4KG Google is about to launch a new Chromecast with Google TV Low-end According to 9t5Google, Google has confirmed that there is a low-end Chromecast device oriented to HD televisions, which would accompany the current device with the capacity to reproduce qualities of up to 4K. The current model, incidentally, has renewed its packaging so that the “4K” motif appears on the box, perhaps as a way to differentiate itself from the new one. Last June, a device with the description “Chromecast with Google TV HD ” passed the FCC certifications and, as we have learned, the launch of this new dongle is imminent. From the source it is reported that the first units must have already arrived at the vendors’ warehouses, although there is no mention of a date official exit. It is suggested that its debut should take place around the launch date of the Google Pixel 7 and the Google Pixel Watch. It is suggested that, at least in Europe, this new Chromecast will cost around 40 euros. This represents a 40% discount compared to the 4K version of the current Chromecast, which is sold at a price of around 70 euros. It is worth remembering that this new device with Google TV costs the same as the Chromecast launched in 2018 , which does not incorporate the Google television operating system. We insist that there is no exact date of departure for this new device, although if the imminence of its arrival is such, it will not take long to know something.
