Bestsellers: See the best-selling cars in 30 European countries – Pravda

The most popular European brand is Toyota, followed by Volkswagen and third is Škoda. Photo: Toyota In the European top 10 rankings, the Japanese Toyota appears most often after 7 months. We usually publish rankings of the best-selling cars, based on the number of units sold. However, we have now used data from the DataForce agency, which looked at what European taste actually is. In other words, she was not interested in the number of cars sold in 30 European countries, but in which models and brands were in the Top 10 after 7 months. And based on them, she compiled a ranking of the most popular European brands and models. And what did he show? It is probably not surprising that the most popular brand in Europe is Toyota. After 7 months, various models of this brand appeared 54 times in the top 10 lists of best-selling cars in 30 European markets. The Japanese brand owes its success mainly to two of its models – the Yaris and the Yaris Cross crossover derived from it. Together, these two models had 10 to 19 positions in the Top charts. The second most popular brand so far this year is Volkswagen with 37 positions in the top 10 rankings, its sister brand Škoda finished in third place (28 positions). The fourth and fifth places belong to Kia and Dacia, which were placed in the top 10 and 26 times in 7 months. Read more See how ‘brutally’ the cheapest cars in Slovakia went up in price in one year! And what about specific models? If we were to run the Yaris and Yaris Cross as separate models, then as many as three vehicles would reach the first place in terms of the number of places in the Top 10 rankings, they would reach 12. They would be Dacia Duster, Škoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla. After seven months, the Romanian Duster finished second in the domestic market and was third in Hungary, Iceland and Latvia. The family Octavia became number one in the Czech Republic, which is probably not surprising, but after 7 months it was also the best-selling car in Croatia and Switzerland. Corolla was number one in Finland and Poland after 7 months. The Peugeot 208 and Dacia Sandero finished just behind them with 11 positions in the Top 10, which are among the European bestsellers this year in terms of number of units. The Peugeot 208 owes its success mainly to the domestic market, over 52,000 were sold in France in the first 7 months. Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4 also had 10 positions in the top 10.
