The “temporary” terraces at the Eurovea complex must be demolished by 2023. The building office in Ružinov defines them as black buildings. According to index.SME, the owners of ten branches have already applied for a demolition permit. Their terraces must disappear by the end of next year. In 2015, the Eurovea complex tried to additionally legalize the originally temporary terraces at the building office. However, the proposal was opposed by the residents of above-ground apartments, for whom the terraces make the view and sound and smell comfort less pleasant. The building authority ordered the cessation of operation of all ten establishments already in 2016. In 2020, the owner of Eurovey, owned by the Ballymore company, started the legalization process all over again and argued the absence of problems with parking, supply and in connection with the spatial plan. By the end of next year, the terraces of Kolkovna, La Crema Primi 1 and 2, Clique, Sajado, La Brasserie La Marine, Le Bar, Al Faro and Wagamama should disappear. The building authority has already approved the process of removing the terraces. However, according to J&T Real Estate spokesperson Daniel Suchý, permanent terraces could appear in the place of the black “temporary” terraces. “Our effort is to make the popular public space of the Danube Promenade more attractive and to give it a uniform and functional design in the original part as well as in its continuation up to the Apollo bridge.” The building office of the Ružinov district has already issued a building permit in connection with the new uniform appearance of the terraces.
