The test to detect if you have the flu, cold or Covid is already on sale – Dial

Faced with symptoms such as headache, congestion, fever or discomfort, many times we are in doubt as to whether it is a common cold, the flu or, on the contrary, it is Covid. Well, these doubts have ended with the arrival of this test that pharmacies already sell and that will allow us to differentiate them. It is a combined test to differentiate the flu and Covid. The operation is similar to the self-diagnostic tests that we know so far since it contains the same elements, but nevertheless this test will make it clear to us if we are positive for COVID-19, influenza A or influenza B in just fifteen minutes. Its price does not reach three euros, 2.94 specifically, and when it comes to doing it there is a small difference with respect to the antigens that we know so far. As the pharmacist Ana Fernández explains to the Antena3 website, “in this case, it will come with two wells, in one we detect Covid and in another the flu“.

The test to detect if you have the flu, cold or Covid, now on sale As RTVE explains on its website, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) makes it clear that this type of test “is exclusively for sale in pharmacies, for what you should not acquire them through other channels«. The test is performed in the same way as a COVID-19 antigen test, taking a sample of the mucous membranes by rubbing the nostrils with a swab, the tip is inserted into a tube, which contains a liquid and in this case three drops of the mixture in one well and three in another and in fifteen minutes we will obtain the result. Antena 3 explained that “currently the incidence of Covid-19 among those over 60 years of age continues to be 153 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, rising just a few tenths. During this time, 204 deaths have been reported, the same as before the summer. The most positive part is that hospitalizations drop by 3,023 and critically ill patients drop by 210.« And in addition, there will no longer be restrictions on school cafeterias, which will have no capacity limit or minimum distance between students.
