The euro falls to a minimum of the last 20 years due to the energy crisis

The euro fell yesterday to a 20-year low, having lost the level of an exchange rate of 0.99 dollars, in a context marked by energy problems after Russia decided on Friday to indefinitely cut off the flow of gas to via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. Each euro was trading for $0.9929 on foreign exchange markets, down from $0.9954 at which it closed last week. The intraday high was reached within minutes of the open, when it hit $0.9951.
