Gröhling: There will be no more school closures, the test will not be necessary – PRAVDA.sk

The Minister of Education, Branislav Gröhling (SaS), promises that his department will no longer close schools in general. A negative test will not be required to start schools, the ministry will support vaccinations. In the case of a positive case, the regulations of the Public Health Office will be followed.

Minister Gröhling confirmed that the intention is for children to be educated as much as possible in schools where they have direct contact with the teacher.

From September, schools will follow three main rules. They will no longer be closed by decision of either the Ministry or the Public Health Office. They will remain open even in the black districts. “In the event of positive cases, only individual classes will be closed,” Gröhling added, adding that students in these classes would move to distance learning.

The second rule is that you will not be asked for a test when you start school. Gröhling explains that at the rate of propagation of the delta variant of the coronavirus, the test loses its informative value very quickly. The rules on regular disinfection, morning filtering, non-mixing of classes remain in force.

The school vending machine will not deal with quarantine, this is the third rule valid from September. The positive and those who are to be in compulsory quarantine will follow the decrees of the ÚVZ. So only those who were in contact with a positive person two days before testing will go to quarantine.

The Minister added that the Ministry will automatically send additional funds to schools for possible increased costs – for disinfection and the like.

Kindergartens will receive 150 euros per school and 5 euros per employee, other schools will receive 5 euros per pupil and per employee and funding automatically. In schools, there will be voluntary testing by gargling tests for regular and special primary schools. Schools will receive more information from the ministry by email.
