His new place of work became HK Poprad, with which he signed a one-year contract. On the official website, the club also informed about the termination of cooperation with the Kazakh striker Artyom Lichotnikov. The Dukla Trenčín Záborský student has so far played in the highest Slovak competition in 4 matches in the year 2005/2006. He then headed abroad, he experienced successful seasons especially in Finland. He also played in lower overseas competitions, spent two seasons in the KHL, also tried competitions in Sweden, the Czech Republic and Germany. He started the past year 2021/2022 in the Liberec jersey, after 11 matches he headed to the highest German competition DEL. In the Schwenninger Wild Wings jersey, he played 41 games with a record of 13 goals and 14 assists. “I was brought to Poprad by the ambitions of the team and the composition of the staff. It is destined to be a good playoff team and make it far. This was of primary importance to me, because everyone who knows me knows that I hate losing and just want to win. To the team I want to help mainly with my offensive, but I also know how to play weaknesses well. My goal is always the same in every season and team – to lift the cup over my head,” said Záborský. He expressed interest, but fairly said that he was waiting for a foreign offer. We got in touch again during July and since then we have maintained intensive contact, which culminated in the signing of a contract. He is an elite scorer, we have since high expectations for his goal productivity and we believe he will help us,” said Jurinyi. After all, 28-year-old Lichotnikov, who did not live up to expectations in the preparatory period, does not continue in the Poprad team. “He couldn’t get into the first two attacks.
