In the 2014 Paris declaration, a movement emerged to take action at the municipal level to fight HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, called Fast Track Cities. The objective of this movement is to promote municipal action to ensure that 95% of people suffering from HIV are diagnosed, that 95% of those who are diagnosed continue to receive adequate treatment on an ongoing basis, that people in treatment manage to suppress their viral load and reduce the risk of HIV transmission, as well as end the stigma and discrimination associated with this disease. Other cities in Spain such as Vigo, Las Palmas, Bilbao, Alcorcón, Torremolinos, Zaragoza or Valencia are already part of this initiative in the country. That is why ULEG has presented an initiative to the ordinary plenary session that will be held on September 29, 2022 so that the Leganés City Council also adheres to the initiative launched by the Fast Track Cities movement.
