today 18:15 | Czech women’s ice hockey players won their first ever medal from the World Cup. In the match for 3rd place at the world championship in Denmark, they defeated Switzerland 4:2. For Czech women’s hockey, this is the completion of a successful season in which the national team made its first appearance at the Olympic Games. At the championship, the Czechs passed the basic group without losing a point, then in the quarter-finals they defeated the favored Finns. They entered the fight for bronze after losing 1:10 to the American women in the semi-finals. Former Slovakian representative Dušan Andrašovský, who works as an assistant to Canadian head coach Carla MacLeod, also contributed to the Czech team’s bronze success.
