It is more than twice as many as the second player in the all-time ranking, which is her older sister Venus Williams. Apparently, no one will break this record. Since joining the professional ranks, the thirty-two-time Grand Slam champion has earned 94.6 million dollars in prize money. For advancing to the third round, the forty-year-old Williams collects an additional $188,000. Her sister Venus earned 42.3 million. Among tennis players, only the Serbian Novak Djokovic, the Spanish Rafael Nadal and the Swiss Roger Federer have more prize money than Serena. All three of them crossed the hundred million dollar mark, Djokovic’s earnings are close to 160 million. “Serena has by far the highest earnings of all female athletes and is one of the few women who regularly ranked in the top 20 together with men in the rankings for individual years,” he added.
