An “anti-Russian enclave” began to emerge in Ukraine, which threatens Russia. This was announced on Thursday by the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, during a visit to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report. During his visit to the Kaliningrad region, Putin met with the students of one of the schools and answered their questions on the occasion of the beginning of the school year. These concerned various areas from space exploration to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. According to Putin, the mission of Russian soldiers in Ukraine is to stop the war between Kiev and the separatist regions in eastern Ukraine. “Of course (the mission of the Russian soldiers) is also to protect Russia itself, because on the territory of present-day Ukraine they have started to create an anti-Russian enclave that threatens our country,” Putin told the students. Putin’s visit to the Kaliningrad region came at a time of increased tension between Russia and Western countries, which was caused by the war in Ukraine. The area does not border Russia, but is sandwiched between two NATO countries, Lithuania and Poland, both of which support Ukraine in the conflict. The Red Army captured Kaliningrad, which until then was part of German territory, at the end of World War II.
