Matovič surprised: Sulík can easily return if he wants. However, SaS must fulfill our ten | TVNOVINY.sk – TVNOVINY.sk

Minister of Finance Igor Matovič will not leave his post unless the SaS party fulfills the ten measures that the OĽaNO movement presented this week as a solution to extreme price increases. The leader of OĽaNO stated this for the media. However, everything points to the fact that on Monday (September 5), the remaining three ministers for SaS should submit their resignations. At the same time, Matovič said that he was saddened by the attitude of the head of SaS and the outgoing Minister of the Economy, Richard Sulík. “I invited him to work with ten measures, but he resigned before that. I want to ask him to come back, and when we ‘get over it’ together, we can thank the people and leave together,” said Matovič, adding that Sulík had ‘slopped’ the robot. The leader of OĽaNO and ex-prime minister Matovič also revealed that the SaS party knew about their ten conditions a day in advance. “They also knew our position that if it came true, we could leave together. In the morning after returning from vacation, Rišo quickly went to resign from his job to the President in order to get rid of responsibility. That’s cowardice, it can’t work like that,” he added. “Until the last moment, we hoped that they would not want to overthrow the government for the third time. When we found out it was going to happen, we put the points together. I think that every judicial person, after reading them, will recognize that these are important things that we have to do anyway,” Matovič responded to the question of the journalists present about why they came up with the ten measures only now. Criticism of the president In the event of the end of SaS in the government and the formation of a minority government, one does not want to rely on the votes of fascists. “Maybe it will turn out that Slovakia is not ready for a minority government. But it will all be just the consequences of the ego of one person who said it’s time to blackmail,” he pointed out. He further emphasized that all measures to help people and protect public finances are covered by taxes, which are blocked by SaS. He criticized that President Zuzana Čaputová is doing party politics from a position that should be completely non-partisan. An offer for Sulík In conclusion, Matovič underlined that he will definitely not resign from the position of Minister of Finance by Monday (September 5). “We have clearly stated our response to SaS blackmail. When the ten points for helping people are accepted, I will very, very, very gladly leave, together with Richard Sulík. However, if Rišo does not want to go and wants to be the minister of the economy by force, I can give way to him and let him remain in office. However, I want to see those points fulfilled,” he concluded. Ongoing situation The dispute in the coalition has been going on for several weeks. SaS announced its departure from the coalition, demanding the resignation of Igor Matovič from the government, which OĽaNO refused. On Wednesday (August 31), when SaS ministers were supposed to resign, OĽaNO came to the government meeting with measures to solve the energy crisis, which, if SaS supports, Matovič will leave the government. SaS is willing to discuss the proposals, but only after Matovič resigns. At the same time, Sulík asked the other SaS ministers not to submit their resignations on Wednesday and to wait until Monday. He added that they are giving Matovič time to resign.
