Robert Fico’s speech at the assembly on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the constitution is criticized by several politicians. MP Miroslav Kollár (Together) left the hall in protest against Fico’s request for applause for Mečiar and Gašparovič. Member of Parliament Juraj Šeliga (For the People) in turn reproaches the head of Smer for talking about the referendum. “To abuse the official celebrations of the Constitution Day to attack the President for respecting the Constitution is shameful! But what to expect from Robert Fico,” Šeliga wrote on Facebook. The chairman of Smer called on the president to call a referendum on the fall of the government and to change the constitution for the date of the combined municipal and county elections, that is, not to let the Constitutional Court assess the constitutionality of the questions.
