Samsung Unveils Odyssey OLED G8 G85SB, 175Hz Curved QD-OLED Monitor – Geektopia

by David Posted on 01 Sep 2022, 09:00:00 email @geektopic News Samsung has announced its own QD-OLED monitor, the Odyssey OLED G8 G85SB, after Dell has been selling the AW3423DW for months on its website, what exactly is the same panel. It is 86.4 cm (34 in), curved with a 1800 R curvature index, a refresh rate of 175 Hz, a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels and a response time of 0.1 ms. It has FreeSync compatible with G-SYNC. It covers 99.3% of the DCI-P3 color scale, with a brightness of 250 nits and a peak in HDR of 1000 nits, although it remains in a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certificate. The monitor has ARGB lighting on the back, where at least a micro-HDMI 2.1, a mini-DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB type C are located. It has given few details about the connectors and the monitor, at least in the distributed press release. The monitor foot allows the panel to be adjusted in height and tilt. Apparently it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to serve the Smart Center platform from which applications such as Netflix, Prime Video and other video on demand can be run. It also features Samsung’s Game Center platform to run Xbox, Stadia, Luna, or GeForce NOW games via streaming. Coming in Q4 2022.
